Tea tree oil and its many uses
the tea tree oil is an essential oil known for its medicinal properties. A native New South Wales, Australia steam distillation of the leaves of the tree Melaleuca alternifolia helps obtain tea tree oil. Among the 100 compounds contained oil terpinen-4-ol mainly accounts for the bulk of the antimicrobial actions.
Tea tree oil is a very clear tinged essential oil yellow or green with a camphor smell fresh. These leaves were earlier used as a substitute for tea, which is how the oil got its name.
One should not confuse Tea tree oil and tea (the seasoning and oil from pressed seeds of the plant Camellia oleifera).
Tree oil Tea is used in Australia as a potent antiseptic long before any scientific research. Tea tree crushed leaves is used as traditional medicine by inhalation of cold treatment oils and cough, and also sprinkled on the wounds.
It was only after 1920 oil use also be popular. A series of research papers evaluating antimicrobial properties was published by Arthur Penfold's popularity. The oil was extracted using mobile and temporary bush wood and plant material was still the severed hand in the act. The demand was very high, until the Second World War and declined after of the war, mainly due to the development of effective antibiotics and interest in natural products. However, interest in natural essential oils was rekindled in the years 1970 and 1980 and demand has grown for use in medicinal and cosmetic uses. Further studies in recent years support the use of tree oil tea in skin care and various aliments.
Here are glimpses of the wonderful uses of this oil:
• The tea tree oil Acne: A study in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Department of Dermatology showed tea tree oil as very effective in treating acne moderate.
• The tea tree oil helps breathing inhaled easier to "break up congestion." You can also minimize Flu symptoms, chills, sore throat and systemic fungal infection.
• Dandruff: tea tree shampoo helped significantly reduce symptoms of dandruff after 4 weeks of use. This could be seen in a study of 126 people with mild to moderate dandruff. This is due to its ability to treat Malassezia furfur, the common general cause of dandruff.
• Athlete's foot: a study of cure athlete's foot is done, and the 50% solution of tea tree oil and placebo were evaluated. After two daily applications for 4 weeks, tea tree oil was significantly more effective than placebo.
• Toenails and Fungal Infection: Another study found that 100% tea tree oil was as effective on toenail fungus infection as the standard antifungal medication of 1% solution of clotrimazole.
• The tea tree oil is also effective against candidiasis and other vaginal infections.
• Can also be used as an additive to bath and also may control bacteria in spas and pools.
• The tea tree oil is also used in cosmetic products for making soap and tea tree shampoo.
• Also has been used for food treatment of the eye and blepharitis.
• Also used in toothpastes, mouthwashes cure bad breath and diseases gum.
• It is also effective in the treatment of minor wounds, insect bites soothe sunburn and ear infection.
• dilute tea tree oil is also sold as to cure the infection of fungi and bacteria from pet fish.
These are just a few of its uses and the list certainly goes on. Tea tree oil is an amazing gift from mother nature that we can put a plethora of uses.
Can you put a few drops of tea tree oil on my moisturizer?
I've heard of people using a dropper to place 2-3 drops of oil Tea tree in their facial moisturizers, I guess that helps keep skin clear, and so I am prone to break outs on your face if you do not use the right products and put some tea tree oil in troubled spots overnight, it would be okay if I used a bit of moisturizer on my well?
3-6 drops of tea tree oil works wounders have the worst acne problem i tried everything from clean and clear proactice to plan only water until mixed some tea tree oil ona Q-tip and my acne was gone within a mounth so it does help acne prone skin!
