I moved into my new apartment and the carpet stinks, will my landlord have to replace it?
I moved into my apartment a couple of weeks ago and the carpet really stinks! I told the apartment manager the first day and they had the carpet people come do a mildew cleaning and a deodorizer. That did not help. So lately ive invested money in bath & body works wall flowers, glade plug in’s, carpet fresh, scented oil burners and the smell still lingers. Its only in the master bedroom. It to the point were i sleep on the floor in my living room. I live in the state of California. I just want some advise before i go talk to the apartment manager again. Will they have to replace the carpets? Is this an unlivable living situation??
No, they will not have to change the carpets, CA has no carpet laws at all.
