You can probably find them in your local Boots or other health food store… they are fairly common now. If you can’t find them in any store in town, you could always look online for a legit company that can ship them to you.
There are many higher quality companies out there that carry various Essential Oils, are readily available and well priced… just make sure the company has a good rating with either the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) or USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia), as those are the main quality assurance organizations (USP is for the U.S., GMP is for the U.S. and worldwide).

The placebo effect is a condition where some medical or non-medical drugs are given to a person but these do not have any remedial value, instead the person who is using it may get reassured of healing.
Adulterated oils (which have a mixture of other cheap oils) don’t contain much medicinal value. They are priced low as compared to real essential oils.
Some tips which would help you buy better essential oils are as follows:
• The best practice while buying essential oils is to try a small quantity as a test and then go for higher volume.
• Many essential oils lose their medicinal values over a period of time, so demand fresh stocks.
• Avoid buying from local store until and unless you are sure about the parent company producing such stuff. Small bottles which doesn’t have any company name and having white stickers pasted on them are dubious.
• Essential oils can dissolve rubber bulbs, caps and other such materials which are normally used as covers, so avoid going for bottles which have rubber covers.
• If you are able to make out that the aluminum bottles’ inside is lined, only then go for essential oils stored in aluminum bottles or else give them a miss.
• Do some online research about ingredients of essential oils and what effect it produces. Better knowledge will result in a better purchase.
• If you do not get proper results from a particular brand, consult and change it.
• Always remember that essential oils are different from perfumed oils which may have alcohol contents in it.
Lastly, always make a habit of checking for ingredients of essential oils before you purchase them.
