Virus replication and essential oils
In a nutshell … on the virus …
The flu is a virus with many subtypes that are identified and classified by differences in two proteins, hemagglutinin (H) and neuraminidase (N). The differences are due to the rapid mutation of the virus. The scientific community has learned a lot on influenza A virus, but the fact is we can not know what we know and the virus mutates rapidly, becoming something new. Antiviral drugs do not eliminate the virus, inhibiting virus replication. Learn more about the life cycle of a virus has led to the development of antiviral strategies that target the virus in different stages of that cycle.
Opportunity …
We are experiencing an outbreak of flu that can be very important and potentially devastating for individuals and communities and on a much larger level. We should all use common sense in protecting and caring for ourselves and our families. I will not use this as a pulpit my position on things that are related and responsible in varying degrees. I will give you some information you might want to arm and educate yourself.
Essential oils and viral replication …
All essential oils are anti-microbial to a degree. There is a tremendous amount of anecdotal information cultural and historical that tells us that certain plants are effective against certain foods. I will focus here on the essential oils that have been documented in laboratory efficiency anti-viral, but I think we should listen to our grandmothers … schwedenkrauter anyone ever been given for what ailed you?
Coconut oil – is an essential oil but it is worth mentioning. About 50% of the fatty acids in coconut oil is lauric acid, the fatty acid essential for building an immune system. In the body, is converted to monolaurin, a powerful monoglyceride that destroys lipid-coated viruses (such as cytomegalovirus, HIV, herpes and influenza) and as pathogenic bacteria. I use this on skin and the kitchen. The smell and taste of raw organic coconut oil are great.
title = "Oil oregano essential "> Oil of Oregano – A study cited in the Annals of Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobials 2009, 8:08 indicate that Oreganum vulgare and Artemisia vulgaris have inhibitory effects on the replication of yellow fever virus. Apparently, the presence of oil O. vulgare essential in the culture medium to 11.1 ug / Ml produced a 100% reduction of virus production. (A microgram is Ug, 1 / 1000000 of a gram or 1 / 1000 of a milligram.) Eo oregano appears to be effective due to direct viral inactivation rather than being provided only a stage in the virus life cycle.
Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) also tested in the above study and produced similar results in strike. Artemis is very high ketone and should be used for the experience.
Essential tree oil "> Tea Tree – A study by the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases showed that replication of an influenza strain was severely inhibited equal opportunity tea tree was introduced within 2 hours of infection. This suggests that tea tree eo interferes at an early stage of viral replication, but after adsorption. Eo tea tree is cheap and is quite stable (it has a long shelf life).
