Good aroma, nice feeling by An electronics fan from on 2010-03-26 I have used this oil for more than 4 months, starting with my third pregnancy month. Weleda is a German company that makes a lot of natural products so that is what attracted me to the product in the first place. I rub it on my belly and thighs to hydrate my skin. Until now (7th month of pregnancy) my skin has remained smooth, no stretch marks. Of course, I think it depends from person to person. Some women get horrible stretch marks, others don’t. But I feel like the oil can help prevent some of that and I like its aroma, it’s very calming. It gets fast into your skin and if I have anything left on my palms I rub them against my thighs and I also rub my hands, it helps hydrate my hands too. The price on Amazon (about $13 for 3.4 Oz.) beats the price on Weleda or Target websites.

Neutrogena unscented body oil – great for mild eczema by Southern Mom from North Carolina, USA on 2009-01-24 I suffer from mild eczema in wintertime, and if I do not keep ‘ahead’ of it, it soon becomes “less than mild” requiring drugs which I loathe. After many seasons of unsuccessful testing of various lotions, potions, creams & such, I tried Neutrogena unscented/fragrance-free Body Oil – which when used after EVERY SINGLE shower/bath, is great. Some seasons I manage not to get an outbreak at all. Lightyears more effective than baby oil or any lotion I’ve every tried (and I have tried them all). It is good as a bath oil too (well, if it’s a bathtub you either don’t share or religiously wash down after every use). I don’t like scent/perfume, but the sesame scent isn’t bad nor overpowering – and it costs less (grrr – because it is available in larger container), so I tend to mix them because I”m cheap. My family objects to the sesame smell in shared bathroom, however.

I first learned of Neutrogena Light Sesame Body Oil from an article in a magazine about the personal favorite products of beauty profesionals. The oil was mentioned several times as a tried and true after-bath or shower moisturizer for even the driest or most problematic skins.
The oil is meant to be applied to the body immediately after bathing or showering but before toweling dry. The oil is quickly absorbed into the skin, almost nothing is left on the towel used to dry yourself. Once dry, your skin is silky smooth but not oily. The fragrance is delicate and clean and not cloying.

The baby oil (light mineral oil)is hydrophobic so it stays on the skin surface as a light protective coating and lubricant. I found this product when I read that sesame oil is better for your skin than mineral oil. I apply right after my shower to damp skin and let it sink in. Within minutes (or less) it’s totally absorbed and there’s NO greasy feeling! It leaves your skin lightly scented and nicely moisturized with a beautiful, healthy sheen. I personally love the scent. It’s very clean and light and goes well with my other perfumed body lotions or fragrances. great oil by Hana from OC, CA on 2010-07-16 I was concerned that I would not like the smell (not usually a a big fan of citrus) but it is light and fades quickly. The oil moisturizes well (takes a few minutes to soak in) and I like that it’s natural. I was afraid it would make me break out and my skin actually looks better than ever, and so far no stretch marks on my growing belly (but I do alternate products on there). So far I haven’t stained anything either, which was another original concern of mine. One bottle did leak in transit, though, so beware.

That being said, this is a great product from Burt’s Bees. I used this along with 2 other oils while I was pregnant 3 times a day AND GOT NO STRETCH MARKS! My mother got stretch marks but after giving birth, all I have is the vertical dark line down my belly and that’s it! I love the lemony scent too~ It’s basically the same thing as the lemon oil and vitamin e with a new label slapped on it so either will do the trick!

New Favorite by Susan from Mat-Su Valley Alaska on 2010-02-03 Two years ago I developed a sudden break out of eczema on the back of one hand, something I had never experienced before. I tried every lotion I could get my hands on to help sooth it, to no avail, and I eventually ended up having to use a topical prescription steroid cream to get it to go away (not something I really was comfortable using). Then I found this product. It’s fantastic, and has completely replaced the steroid cream, as well as my other regular body lotion. I use it twice a day, and it leaves my skin so soft and hydrated, it feels wonderful. Another reviewer commented on the strong scent, and while I am usually super sensitive to perfumes I find that this goes on a bit strong but quickly dissipates, leaving a soft and very pleasant scent. I love the body wash as well. Well worth the price listed here, although as someone else mentioned, it is cheaper at Walmart and you save yourself the shipping cost.

I will keep buying it at walmart. I divided the price by 3 and you are paying over $7 for one and in Walmart the most you pay is $5.

Very bad packaging by Lorenzo Solano from on 2010-09-07 I’m very disappointed with the packaging of this product. The “Nature’s Alchemy Sweet Almond Oil” bottle breaks; and the two books packaged with it (INCREDIBLE BOOKS AND OIL TOGETHER); got wet also one of them is destroyed.
I will ask for a refund, or resend of damage items.
I’m also buy a Kamasutra Oil of Love, and this item arrive just perfect, so I believe that here the problem is the packaging or the quality of bottles.

I have not noticed any problems with it staining or leaving marks on fabrics. The scent is very mild. It feels great for massages and seems to be a good value. My pets (cats and dog) seem to like it a lot – they try to lick it off my hands – so I would recommend keeping the bottle away from pets. I would imagine it might make them sick if they got a large quantity of it.

One word of advice though, whoever packaged this could definitely do a much better job. The bottle top was not sealed well at all and it leaked through the cardboard box it was mailed it.

buyer beware by Cindy Poist from on 2010-01-22 I bought this oil so I could make perfume out of natural essential oils. The product worked good, but when I turned the bottle upside down the plastic rating in the triangle was a 3. You know the saying, 2 4 5 you’ll stay alive. Well when plastic is given a 3 that means that the plastic was treated with pvc which can leak into foods and is a known carcinogen. The whole purpose of making my own perfumes was to stay away from carcinogens in commercial brand perfumes. I was very disappointed :(

The spray is nice to get out of reach areas. I usually spray it into my hand to apply it to my legs to prevent overspray onto the floor. It’s not too thick but stays put. The smell is wonderful but doesn’t last long so it doesn’t interfere with your perfume. This is a great product and I would highly recommend it. I will definitely buy it again!

I just moved to a different neighborhood, and I had to buy it here, because every single drug store I went to (large or small) had every other Alba product but this. ???? (My old neighborhood was a bit far for me to travel to buy it). The oil is light, has a wonderful gentle warm fragrance, and it gives me the moisture that my skin needs. The best way to use it is to rub it into your skin right after a shower, when your skin is still damp. What that does is trap the moisture and penetrates the way a cream would never do. Once you try oil, you’ll never use cream again! I started using it because creams – no matter how dense were simply not helping my skin – my hands would be dry in minutes, and the cream didn’t penetrate and heal other areas that began to be painful from dryness. As soon as I began using this, those problems were cured. Sometimes if I need some extra hand care, I’ll use a little of the oil in the middle of the day. It smells wonderful and really WORKS (better than the Neutrogena “Sailor’s” super strong hand cream) – remember to rub it into your skin while your hands are still damp. I recommend this as the De Facto skin moisture care product!

I usually apply the kukui lotion later to dryer patches for added moisturizing. This is not a deeply moisturizing oil for those who’s skin is in an extremely dry state. I would say this is for those people who have already gotten our skin to a better state and use this to maintain it staying soft and supple. My skin tends to be a little on the dry side, and is very sensitive to changes in weather and such, yet this oil works very well for me. It keeps my skin from drying out, keeps it looking healthy and even, and gives me a pretty, natural-looking sheen. HOWEVER, this is NOT for extremely dry or damaged skin.
If your skin is chapped or cracked, you’ll need something much heavier than this. Try a heavier oil (Oils of Aloha has a wonderful kukui oil that saves my hands when they crack) or perhaps a body butter. Shea butter works wonders for really dry skin. Tree Hut makes wonderful butters and lotions with shea, and without parabens or DM DM hydantoin!
Alba Botanica also has a few “body creams” that may work as well. I have yet to try these myself, but they’re very likely just as wonderful as all their other products, several of which I use on a daily basis and LOVE.

Rinses ok, doesn’t make the shower (or my hair where it touches my shoulders) greasy, but the consistency is thin; if your skin is very dry you may want to supplement with lotion.

I no longer have itchy skin. I apply the oil while I’m still wet in the shower and then towel dry. I’m sure some of it comes off on the towel, but not all of it. I can still smell the lovely scent and my skin feels comfortable all day long. Highly recommended!

It smells good, leaves your skin refreshed & moisturized, brightens & freshens tattoos, (yes, I can attest to this, as I have tattoos) AND repels mosquitoes!
