A candle is a solid block of wax with an embedded wick, which is lit to provide light and sometimes heat. Candles can be made from beeswax, soy and other plant waxes and also from tallow.
Glass Candles are made of toughened glass so breakages are rare. Purchasing a Glass Candle means having the candle for life as opposed to wax candles which can be expensive and are gone within a short period of time.
There are easy and simple steps to follow to make Shot glass Candles.
Firstly, break up all the old, half burned candles present with you into a measuring cup. If you add some wax dye, you could find some discoloration in the measuring cup. Then, slowly place the measuring cup into a pan of boiling water until the wax completely melts out. Keep a check on the cup to ensure that the wax has completely melted. Once you find that the wax has completely melted, you could add the wax dye into it. Cut the wicks into lengths of your choice and size to the fit the shot glasses. Then, place the wicks inside the shot glasses. Make sure that you make use of only the glass shot glasses or any other thick glass. Put a small drop of glue on the tip and press it into the bottom center of the glass to ensure that the wick stays erect.
When the wax starts to melt down, slowly pour the wax into each shot glass with the caution that you do not submerge the entire wick. When the wax is completely set, move the wick into the center of the glass and then leave it to fully set. As the wax contracts as it cools, you will have to pour another set of wax once the candle has set.
When you lit a match near the candle, it melts and vaporizes a small amount of fuel. Once vaporised, the fuel combines with the atmospheric oxygen to form a flame. This flame provides sufficient heat to maintain the burning of the candle. The heat of the flame melts the top mass of solid fuel, the liquefied fuel then moves upward through the wick through capillary action and then the liquefied fuel vaporizes to burn within the candle’s flame.
