How to Make Reed Diffusers for Room Fragrance
DIY Room Fragrance at Home
Making a reed fragrance diffuser is no sweat! You can make one quickly, simply, and easily at home. All you need is a clear glass container, a diffuser fragrance, and reeds or any stick-like pieces of wood. It is important that the container be made of clear glass because this will allow you to watch when the diffuser fragrance is to be added to the jar and monitor and control your results. Glass containers are also commonly preferred for aesthetic reasons (who wants to have a reed diffuser made from an old coffee mug).
It’s all about the reed scent diffusers sticks
Using actual reeds is, of course, ideal, but it is not at all necessary. Dowel rods, which are available in every hardware store, and other such slender, cylindrical wooden pieces, will all work fine and are acceptable alternatives to using reeds. It’s important that you use wood, though, and the shape should be similar to that of a reed so that it will be able to work as a proper scent diffuser. Finding reeds, however, is not difficult (see the related article on where to buy reed diffusers for further information).
The next step is selecting the fragrance. Reed diffusers are wonderfully useful for creating fragrance in a room and producing a scent that will welcome guests and allow you to relax when you are at home. This is why choosing a room fragrance for your home is probably the most important aspect of the process of making your own reed diffuser. Once you have selected a fragrance that you feel fits your room and matches your personality and mood, begin by filling your glass container with the ointment all the way up to the half way mark. Then place three or four of the reeds or other sticks you have selected in the container. Now you are all set to go. Just let the reeds or sticks do all the work of diffusing the fragrance throughout the room. If the scent begins to fade, simply flip the sticks and the original scent will be reintroduced to the room.
There are many aromatherapy oils available, which all have their own unique purpose and effect. These oils will work perfectly with the diffuser reeds you’ve created, and with a little research you can find an aromatherapy oil that will induce just the mood that you are looking to create. As an alternative, you can design your own original scent by placing flowers or spices in baby oil and then putting the oil into the container. What better personal touch could there be in the home than not only giving it a delightful, relaxing, elegant smell, but also creating a fragrance and a mood that is different from any other.

both smell nice, but just a heads up: diffused oil slowly coats the inside of your lungs, and may cause problems, so if u use it, make sure u r not around, or the room is well ventilated. candles do the same, but to a lesser extent
