Sounds as a simple question … but … an essential oil is very different from another and you should learn to use oils very well. Be aware of the indications and contraindications of each and any possible reaction. … For example, citrus oils used in massage can reduce swelling, but can also create a photosensitivity temporary. Another oil that I think I should mention is Lavender. It is readily available and easy to understand to be very easy to use. There are, however, a large difference chemically. Lavandula stoechas and Lavandula latifolia are higher in ketones or Lavandula officinalis Lavandula andustifolia. The ketones are neurotoxic and can cause liver damage irreversible. Well, the big warning there, but do you see my point? No one has ruined his liver by the use of Lavandula stoechas a body oil after the shower, but these differences in the oils is something you should consider before creating a mixture to be used on yourself or someone else. So, here is the answer the 'Start how. with grape seed oil as the base or apricot. They can be purchased anywhere. For topical use generally 3-10% dilution is sufficient. This means that 3 to 10% of its oil massage can be of essential oils. Here's how to figure that out. Say a ml is 30 drops and 30 drops is one ounce. That means that an ounce is about 900 drops. 900 x 3% is 27 drops to 900 x 10% is 90 drops. For an ounce of base oil, you can add 27 to 90 drops of essential oil. Some oils like cinnamon or ginger are hot and should only be used well diluted. Others are well tolerated in a much higher percentage. You can choose your oils based purely on the smell, or you can choose the therapy because they will provide. They massage the sore muscles? Are you treating cellulitis or edema? Does the receiver of massage have the need to detox? Have fun and good luck.
