Is massage safe during the 1st trimester of pregnancy?
I had a facial and had my arms massaged, is this ok? I am 6 weeks pregnant with a history of miscarriages.
I have been a massage therapist for 5 years and an esthetician for 2 years. Facials are fine and so are the arms and some parts of the legs but not full body massage. Most massage therapists are going to turn you down or tell you to bring a note from the doc. As for 2nd trimester a note may still be needed but the massage therapist can tell you what is best and may ask you some questions as for the 3rd trimester FULL BODY ALL THE WAY. Its great for all that muscle pain that you get in the 3rd trimester just make sure you get a pregnancy massage and not a regular massage you need to be laying on your side with lots of pillows and not on your stomach or back because that can be very uncomfy.
