Aromatherapy oils are known as essential oils are the foundation of aromatherapy and influence the mind, body and spirit. These oils are the concentrated extracts of plants and their roots, stems, flowers and fruits. Essential oils extracted from plants in general, through distillation.
Essential oils are concentrated and the mixture must be diluted with carrier oil like sweet almond, almond, apricot, grape seed and jojoba prior to application. Only a few oils essentials such as lavender and tea tree can be applied directly to the skin.
Massage the oil on the body is the most common method of obtaining the benefit aromatherapy oils, since skin is the largest organ of absorption it has.

Bergamot – Originally from Italy, which is obtained from the peel of bitter orange. It is pale green in color, with sharp, refreshing orange and fragrance. It is the happy uplifting oil, works well against tensions, headaches and anxiety either through massage or a diffuser. Recommended for itching vaginal and cystitis. If you are using this oil, avoid the sun for at least 3 days later.
Chamomile – The oil for women and children. Romano and German chamomile are used widely in the world of aromatherapy. Roman Chamomile is soothing and calming oil. Relieves pain, spasms and shock. Good analgesic for pain dull pain. German chamomile oil is for children. Calm child stomach cramps or pain, relieve diaper rash and skin irritations.
Eucalyptus – very versatile oil, originating in Australia. It is used to defend against infectious diseases like influenza, measles, help reduce fever and relieve on a bad cold. It is also an effective insect repellent.
Geranium – sweet female scent like rose, geranium essential oil extracted from Pelargonium. Avoid use of Geranium essential oil during pregnancy. A good oil to use when you are irritable and depressed, especially during PMS. 4 drops of oil in the bathroom at work as a destroyer of high tension. Also notable acts as an insect repellent.
Jasmine – a reputation as an aphrodisiac oil, Jasmine has a very sexy and beautiful fragrance. Jasmine essential oil when massaged into the abdomen during the later stages of work strengthens uterine contractions and relieves pain. Used in skin care for dry skin. Leave a warm feeling after massage with jasmine oil. Comforts and helps a person to have more confidence.
Lavender – This oil calms, soothes the skin, balances oil production, helps heal blemishes, stimulates circulation of the skin, reduces inflammation acne and calms the nervous system.
Lemon – The rise and cheerful aroma of fresh lemons is obtained by pressing the outer rind of the lemon fruit. A rich source of vitamins A, B and C. Helps stimulate the body's immune system to fight disease.
Mandarin – The essential oil is extracted from the shell mandarin. Soft, sweet and fruity oil is primarily children. Anthranilic acid in the anti-stress oil is good for children.
Neroli – Obtained from the flowers of bitter orange, Neroli fragrance is bitter sweet and refreshingly beautiful. A gentle sedative rejuvenates the skin and relieves anxiety. It is also said to be an aphrodisiac. Stimulates growth of healthy new cells.
Niaouli – is spicy pleasant oil. Useful for sore throat, cough, runny nose, cystitis, poor overall skin and hemorrhoids. Do not use for children under 10 or pregnant women. It is used to clean wounds and minor burns, due to its antiseptic properties.
Palmarosa – It is antibacterial, balancing and regenerating with scent similar to geranium. Recommended for acne, hair preshampoo make a great conditioner. A good oil to diffuse during flu epidemics.
Peppermint – Smelling of fresh mint, often added to cosmetics and skin care for acne or oily skin. Refreshing and stimulating oil, peppermint herb is well known for indigestion. It can cause insomnia, should not be used on babies or young children and may irritate sensitive skin.
Rose – Rose Olive oil is all time favorite with its beautiful and relaxing fragrance. Regarded as the oil and aphrodisiac for women. The tones of the womb, overcomes problems with the reproductive systems of females. Women should rose oil in the first 5 months of pregnancy because it can cause miscarriage. Antidepressant qualities of the oil relax the person, relive stress and depression. Can be used for all skin types, especially beneficial for mature skin.
Tea Tree – Has antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic and antiviral properties. Stains healthy, with no side effects such as dry, itching, burning, burning or redness. Restores energy depleted by everyday stress, reduce or relieve mental fatigue and exhaustion. Irritate sensitive skin.
