Aromatherapy Travel Insurance – Essential Oils For Your Travels

Going on a trip is usually thought of as a wonderful experience that you and your family can have planned and expected for some time. For the most fun – to take full advantage of the experience – it is important that you and your loved ones have the means to overcome those little ailments and discomforts that can make the experience go a little unpleasant to downright unbearable. How can you include a little 'Travel Insurance' to our already overstuffed carry-on baggage or mini-vans? Aromatherapy has an answer with some readily available essential oils.

Motion sickness, bites insect, digestive disorders, fatigue and travel in general – to name a few – are common discomforts experienced when venturing away from home. A small collection of low-cost essential oils can provide great relief from these ailments attractions in danger. 'Treatment' with these oils is simple – ranging from inhaling a little oil in a tissue, adding to a bath, drinking a drop with a cup of hot water. And, thankfully, relief often comes quickly because of strong properties of oils and compatibility with our own bodies.

Mint and Ginger Essential Oils – Tummy Troubles and Clearing the Head

We start with 'Getting there' – any journey begins with the journey. By car, boat, plane, or otherwise, motion sickness commonly effects many people, especially children. This portion can easily make the "travel" from their experience absolutely no fun. Enter the oil Peppermint essential.

Peppermint has been used to calm uneasy stomachs, and is easy to use. A drop (strong!) In a cup of warm water, sweetened if desired, can be sipped before and during the trip. For the more troublesome, a fall can be added to a small amount of honey and taken from a spoon for the same effect.

Ginger essential oil is also known for his quiet upset stomachs – a little inhalation of a tissue or diluted in a carrier oil and rubbed on the abdomen can be soothing. You can also add a drop of ginger to warm water and drink as strong tea – this may be effective in some foods, issues related to the stomach and, in particular when combined with abdominal massage method.

Mint can also rises to the tired driver or passenger – a drop or two posts in the tissues in the car or near your seat will release the aroma into your environment. Be careful with this oil however, as getting in sensitive areas of the skin (directly under the nose, and certainly near the eyes) can cause irritation. Lavender essential oil is also an effective wound healing because it is anti-inflammatory, regeneration actions mild antibacterial, and skin. It can be used directly in case of burns, mixed 50:50 with Tea Tree and strips to prevent infection, or mixed with thyme linalool and Eucalyptus (2:4:2) and added to a container of water for an effective disinfectant wash.

Lavender is very useful for the treatment bites and stings – just place a little "clean" (undiluted) in the affected area. This versatile oil is also a component of a mixture of insect repellent made of equal parts of Lavender, Thyme Linalool, and mint, and a double dose of Lemongrass essential oil. A drop or more placed on tissue or cloth around your room can keep insects out of your space, 3 drops of this mixture for a teaspoon of carrier oil can be regularly applied to the skin – or you can mix a similar amount in any lotion you may have.

Lavender can be used in combination with geranium, chamomile, peppermint and eucalyptus oils alleviate the effects of jet lag. Getting out of this weary state as quickly as possible makes any trip more enjoyable. This requires getting yourself and your partners in line with local time, with good rest at night and perhaps a gentle lift in the mornings and throughout the day.

To get yourself in the rate of local time, relax and get ready for bed with equal parts lavender and geranium essential oils – Chamomile may also be used in place of geranium, and works especially well for children soft (if they are irritable for whatever reason). Add a few drops to a bath or use a massage oil. For a morning opened his eyes, do the same using equal amounts of mint and eucalyptus. You will find these useful at other times when you need a bit of clarity and the lighting-up.

Lemon Oil – the Purifier

Lemon also has some wonderfully diverse uses. It is effective as an antibacterial, but not as strong as to be an irritant. Add a few drops per liter to help purify drinking water and water can act as a disinfectant to be used in washing fruits and vegetables – The need for this certainly depends on your location, but not a bad idea whenever bacterial contamination may be a possibility. In addition, drinking water regularly with added lemon oil can gently stimulate the lymphatic and digestive systems, helping to alleviate that feeling of sluggishness that often accompanies extended plane and the car.

Eucalyptus Oil – To keep cool and cold Relief

Eucalyptus – Limiting the range of the leaf is a favorite – has a great range of applications. It can cool the body when overheated, and protect it when too cold. It is found in almost all formulas used to relieve congestion, can support the movement, lightness and lead to a tired head trip.

Eucalyptus oil can be used like peppermint to uplift and strengthen during intervals time in a car. You can add a cool bath or used in a cold compress in cases of heat exhaustion and heat stroke (accompanied, of course, large amounts of water and electrolytes!), and is used in a similar manner so as to reduce fever.

Eucalyptus oil can be blended with Geranium as a massage oil (3 drops of eucalyptus and 2 drops of geranium per teaspoon of carrier oil) to relieve heat cramps. For relief of congestion, a drawn bath, add 1 drop of eucalyptus, 3 drops lemon, 2 drops of thyme and 2 drops of tea tree oil – soak and breathe deeply – or simply add a few drops to a steaming bowl water and inhale.

These are just some examples of ways to make your trip enjoyable experience with aromatherapy. With a little effort, you can expand your knowledge of these oils, discovering new uses, and find other oils that work well for your particular needs.

These essential oils are easily available and fairly inexpensive – though caution should be used be used when buying oils, as some can be adulterated, and others are mass produced using techniques that may limit its therapeutic benefits. The most pleasant and "well rounded" of an aromatic oil, in general, the higher the quality. His nose knows! And as with any aromatherapy application, start slowly – essential oils deserve a healthy respect.
