electric heaters?
I would like to use electric heaters to warm my house this winter. I am looking at a savings of about 1,000 + dollars if I switch over to the portable eclectric heaters versus heating oil. I am looking for people that have used portable electric heaters to give some information.
Did you use oil filled or the fan type? How long have the units lasted? Have you had any problems that made you think that these type of heaters were not a good idea. Any information would be helpful. Winter is coming!!!! Thanks
the most effective one I have used is a reflector style (looks like a little sat. dish) works well and does not use as much electrics as the fan type I have, plus no noise. Has a tip over safe base – very wide.
Only thing about it is the footprint is large due the wide tip-over safe base and I do not like the dog near it – so I keep it up on a dresser in the BD when needed.
I do not run this all the time – just when the we get a lot of days very cold in a row, to help keep the gas bill down.
